Natalia Chen is 12 years old and is currently attending St Andrews
College. Natalia has been playing the violin for 4 years, and really
enjoys it! She was appointed the concertmaster of the 2008 Christchurch
Schools' Music Festival Orchestra. She has also been awarded the music
scholarship for St Andrew's College twice in 2007 (Year 7), and
recently, for Year 9. Last year, she was awarded the cup for the Most
Promising Girl - 12 and under 14 years, In the recent St Andrew's
College prizegiving, she was awarded the Prize for Instrumental Music
and the Dux of the Preparatory School for 2008.

Concerto No.2 in D minor Opus 22, 1st Movement
Amie, born in Christchurch, started learning the violin at the aged
five. She has been learning from Oleg Kotorovych for 6 years. In 2006
she passed her grade 8 ABRSM and she was a member of the Pettman Junior
Academy in 2006 and 2007. In 2008 she passed her ABRSM diploma, finished
year thirteen at Burnside High School and completed year one mathematics
papers at Canterbury University. Activities other than playing the
violin that she enjoys are music composition, and spending time with her
dog.
Joshua Leung
A. Khachaturian Chant Poeme
Joshua was born in Christchurch. He began playing the violin at the
age of six. In the early years he was tutored by I.Ionenko. He is
currently a student of Oleg Kotorovych.
Joshua won the Joan Sinclair Challenge Trophy in 2004 and was the winner
of the String Instrumental Solo under 16 in 2006 in the Festival of Arts
in Christchurch. He was a semi-finalist in the National Young Performer
Awards in 2007 in Tauranga and was awarded the most promising
competitor. He had performed in the Royal Schools of Music High
Achievers Concert and the Trinity College prize giving concert.
Joshua was awarded the Robert Perks Scholarship in 2006 and the Burnside
High 1976 School Council cup for contribution to instrumental music in
2008. He has gained the DipABRSM diploma and LTCL (distinction). In 2008
he gained the FTCL.
Harry Ellerm

Harry is a fourteen year old student of St Andrew's College,
Christchurch, and has been playing the violin since age nine. He has
gained experience and success both as a soloist, orchestra leader and
Chamber Group member since that time. In addition to being a multiple
gold medal winner in the Sydney Performing Arts Challenge on piano he
has competed successfully on violin at both local and national levels as
well as in Australia.
Harry is a regular performer on violin and piano at the Associated Board
of Royal Schools' High Achievers' concerts and on two occasions
including in 2008 has received special awards for receiving the highest
grade ever given by the examiner worldwide. Harry completed his Trinity
Guildhall ATCL Diploma on violin in 2008.
Sherry Lee
H. Vieuxtemps Concerto No.4 in D Minor Op.31, 3 and 4 movement.
Sherry Lee is a Year 12 student at Burnside High School and she
currently studies under Oleg Kotorovych. Sherry has also been in the
Pettman Junior Academy Programme at the University of Canterbury since
2007, In 2008 she passed the ATCL (violin) exam with Distinction, as
well as passing DipABDSM (piano) with Distinction. Sherry also received
the 2008 Noel Newson Award for showing musical promise in both
instruments. She has been a member jr the 2007 and 2008 NZSO National
Youth Orchestra.
Anna Kiriaev
A. Khachaturian Concerto in D Minor 1 movement
I've been playing the violin since 1999 when I turned six. The violin
has ever since been a very important part of my life. I was awarded most
promising Girl in the Christchurch Competitions Society in 2003, 2004,
2007. I was leader of Christchurch Primary Schools Music Festival
Orchestra 2005, 2006 and leader of CSM Sinfonia 2005, 2006, 2007. I
received ABRSM high achievers cup in 2005 for grade 8, then passed
DipABRSM in 2006.I was a Chamber music regional finalist in 2007, 2008
seasons of NYO. At the moment I'm also on a music scholarship at Rangi
Ruru Girl's School and Pettman Junior academy.
